Korean Noodle Japchae~
Japchae (잡 채)
Japchae is a Korean noodle which found at first in 17th century when Joseon Dynasty was reigning in the Korean peninsula. At the first time, japchae was just made from vegetables like cucumber and shitake mushroom. Since early 20th century, dang myeon (sweet potato noodle/sohun) was added to eat with japchae.
In Korean culture, korean people usually eat japchae when party or special moments and it was eaten as banchan(small dishes of food served along with cooked rice/ lauk-pauk).
Well, to make japchae we need to prepare ingredients such as Sweet potato noodles or cellophane noodles sesame oil, beef sirloin, onion, shiitakes, garlic, spinach, carrot, scallions, soy sauce ,sugar ,salt ,pepper and sesame seeds. You may also can add more vegatables like cucumber.
To make Japchae first you must boil the sweet potato noodle. Second, stir fry the carrots and onions until softened,about 1 minute…but it really depends on how thin you slice your onions and carrots. Third, add garlic, scallions and mushrooms into fying pan and stir it. Then add spinach, noodles, soy sauce, sugar, fry it just 2-3 minutes until noodles are heated through. Turn off heat, toss with sesame seeds and sesame oil.
That'a all the step to make Japchae !! It is easy right ? And it is very tasty ^^
